Green Corn Project as Whole Foods Market Nonprofit of the Month

Shop at Whole Foods Market from October 1st – October 28th and support Green Corn Project! Whole Foods will be collecting donations for Green Corn Project at every register. Tips from all food venues will also go to support GCP.

The last day of the Legislative Session is Memorial Day, a holiday
for many people. David and I had decided to go, sit in the House and
Senate Galleries, walk the halls, and visit Legislators, just to let
them know that win, lose or draw, we are here and we are not going
away. Then we thought how great it would be if there were hundreds
of grassroots anti-corridor/toll people everywhere!

The Citizens of Texas are presented with an unique opportunity to challenge the wisdom of the Trans Texas Corridor and express their concern about the growing obsession with toll roads and public private partnerships.

THIS IS NOT ANOTHER TxDOT HEARING

The subject of this hearing is not limited to TTC-35, TTC-69, or proposed TTC corridor routes or specific toll roads.

Come hear TxDOT defend their policies to our elected officials. And, hear others who seriously question those policies. Add your presence and your voice to the debate.

Come fill the auditorium. All eyes at the Capitol will be focused on this hearing as an indication of public acceptance or opposition. This Senate Committee can have a real impact on the flawed public policy surrounding these projects.

March To The Capitol To Protest

We have great people... but we also have a new enemy: bureaucracy, which costs us money and slows us down. We created it, we subjected our people to it and we have to fix it! The #1 Tell Dell issue is bureaucracy and getting cooperation from other organizations. I am asking each of you to look across your organizations and eliminate redundancies, think about what is best for Dell, and provide the clarity and focus of leadership that we need.

Reduce processes, priorities and especially head count?

The film premiere of "Truth Be Tolled" FOR AUSTIN, will be held on
Saturday, October 7th, at 7 pm at the Alamo Drafthouse Theater on
1120 S. Lamar in Austin. Seeing this film will be a great way to end the day after the Toll & Corridor Summit II, organized by CorridorWatch.org. This 9 to 5
affair will bring policy experts, elected officials and the media
together with the community.

Folks from Farmersville, The Colony, Grapevine and Ft. Worth (rural,  
suburban, and urban!) protesting yesterday at Perry's expensive  
"celebration" in Coppell, TX, of his "double-tax" urban tolling of  
Hwy. 121.  Notice our sign about the still secret CINTRA contract to  
develop the Trans-Texas Corridor.  We'll be in Lewisville tomorrow  
with Carole at 2:00 pm for a press conference to Stop 121 Tolls.

        Read the press Carole Keeton Strayhorn's proposed transportation  
plan filed with TxDOT today, including scrapping Rick Perry's Trans-
Texas Corridor and "double-tax" urban toll schemes.  Scroll all the

        The Corridor is now recognized by press and pundits as one of the  
top three issues in the hotly contested Governor's race.  What's  
more, they acknowledge that Carole is leading the fight against it.  
But let us be clear.  This is happening because of the combined  
efforts of 14,000 ordinary people coming to the hearings, with a  
fury, to stop the Corridor, your work as the organizers for the  
Triple R, and the Grandma, who has not just talked the talk, but  
walked the walk, and who now has at least $8 million in her war chest  
to reroute Rick Perry and his Corridor in November!

Round Rock, TX. — Last week, Texas Toll Party volunteers stood in frront Maxwell Ford on the Motor Mile in Austin to publicize Round Rock Mayor, Nyle Maxwell's staunch support for tolling highways we've already paid for. They dubbed Maxwell the "Grim Toller".  Now, they're back, this time in Round Rock! A traffic stopping Nyle "Grim Toller" Maxwell, with a toll booth that reads, "Maxwell voted for freeway tolls, Stop Double Tax Tolls!", will mark the death of the taxpayer in Central Texas.

"If done properly, along with real public input, this expanded study could be a great victory for all Central Texans, easily saving our families hundreds of millions of dollars every year by not having to pay a toll for freeways we've already paid for.
