Dear Friends and Independent Texans:
This letter is to invite you to meetings in your area starting tomorrow and throughout the coming weeks. We want to continue mounting opposition to the Trans-Texas Corridor and "double-tax" urban freeway toll schemes of Gov. Rick Perry. We intend to reroute Perry with the Grandma and independent candidate for Governor, Carole Keeton Strayhorn. Carole has fought to open up Perry's secretive contract with CINTRA, the Spanish toll road consortium, will refuse to sign a full agreement with CINTRA, and will work with us and the legislature to push for a vote of the people on these and other projects through the initiative and referendum process.
OUR BIG EVENT is on Sat., Sept. 30th -- HANDS ACROSS THE CORRIDOR! This is a protest at your County Courthouse. Citizens will bring a "cup of land" from their property to tell the Governor that's all he's getting before we reroute him with Grandma. An email will come to you real soon with the exact time of your event (or if you want to help with one in your county just reply and tell us as WE NEED HELP TO COVER MORE COUNTIES.) Caravans will also be going to Gonzales, Texas to the "Come and Take It Cannon" on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m. to kick off this event. Bring your RV's & vans early and we'll deck them out for the cameras.
MEANWHILE, these are meetings scheduled in your approximate area leading up to the Hands Across event. Please come!
