Cheat Sheet for Creating New Articles

HowTo publish a new article. . .

1) Log In

2) Click "Create Content." (Upper Left Menu)

3) Click:
"Story" for single article
"Book" for multi-part article series
"Blog" for Blog post.

4) Fill in each form element.

Special Note A:
Please don't compose directly into the system. It's a web browser and eventually will crash just before you've typed the last 10 words of a 2,000 word article that had no backup. Please use your favorite word processor and copy and paste from that.

Special Note B:
You will occasionally see this in red when editing; "This content has been modified by another user, unable to save changes." Another user didn't modify it, it's your browser cache getting in the way. The expeditious solution is to click "edit" again, then click "reload/refresh," and then make your changes.

Explanations for each element:

Teaser:
Input your own short blurb/summary for summary displays.

Title:
- Title of the Article

Categories:
- Select which categories your article falls under.

Groups:
- Generally leave blank

Body:
- Your article as straight text or marked up with as much HTML as you are comfortable with. If you are doing no or minimal HTML formatting, use the Input format (below) "Filtered HTML." If you are a HTML Wiz and wish to format your work as precisely as possible feel free to use the "Full HTML" setting.

Input format:
- Filtered HTML
Converts line breaks into HTML (i.e. Break and Paragraph tags).

- Full HTML
Does not convert line breaks into HTML, so you will need to include your own Break and Paragraph tags. No restrictions, have at it.

Adsense Ad/Channel to use:
- This is the place to select who gets the revenue from your article. If it does not default to the channel you desire, you may set its default in your account settings. ('my account' -> 'edit')

URL path settings:
- Leave blank, the system will fill it in for you based upon your Title.
