Chief of Police says Okay! to Cop Tasering 10yr old Girl

Medlock said his daughter was at her mother's house when Ozark police Officer Dustin Bradshaw shocked her in the back with a Taser and arrested her.

"If you can't pick the kid up and take her to your car, handcuff her, then I don't think you need to be an officer," Medlock said.

"He had no other choice. He had to get the child under control," said Ozark police Chief Jim Noggle.

Ozark police said it is their policy to use a Taser on someone who is a threat to others, no matter their age.

Bombs and Bribes, by US Rep. Ron Paul

What if tomorrow morning you woke up to headlines that yet another Chinese drone bombing on US soil killed several dozen ranchers in a rural community while they were sleeping? That a drone aircraft had come across the Canadian border in the middle of the night and carried out the latest of many attacks? What if it was claimed that many of the victims harbored anti-Chinese sentiments, but most of the dead were innocent women and children? And what if the Chinese administration, in an effort to improve its public image in the US, had approved an aid package to send funds to help with American roads and schools and promote Chinese values here?

Why Did it Have to be ... Guns?

I've chosen, in a world where there's never enough time and energy, is to focus on the one political issue which most clearly and unmistakably demonstrates what any politician—or political philosophy—is made of, right down to the creamy liquid center.

Make no mistake: all politicians—even those ostensibly on the side of guns and gun ownership—hate the issue and anyone, like me, who insists on bringing it up. They hate it because it's an X-ray machine. It's a Vulcan mind-meld. It's the ultimate test to which any politician—or political philosophy—can be put.

If a politician isn't perfectly comfortable with the idea of his average constituent, any man, woman, or responsible child, walking into a hardware store and paying cash—for any rifle, shotgun, handgun, machinegun, anything—without producing ID or signing one scrap of paper, he isn't your friend no matter what he tells you.

Libertarianism Needs a Foundation

Libertarianism is a bundle of schismatics, branches of white water politics, has much potential political force. However it keeps dividing, inventing more versions, both becoming more vulnerable and confusing people. It is a wonder it has not already self-destructed.

Helicopter Money

Our money is being deflated, equated with debt, wrecking our financial futures and making it clear we are not saving so as to invest. We need to become activists, working to create an objective monetary system, where gold is money, and certificates used as money substitutes stand for real assets (gold). And lastly, we should return banking to an objective system, where banks lend out only out of equity, out of what they own free and clear – without fractional reserves. Put an end to the Federal Reserve!

Government Morality at What Price?

"Over the past century, the size of the government has been growing. Its totalitarian reach has been extending, just as its spending has been increasing. Many times, with the increased legislation and laws, it apparently creates more problems than it solves. It seems, as of late, that the federal government intends to continue policing morality."

Statement on H Con Res 385, Condemning the Attack on the AMIA Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires , Argentine, in July 1994

Madam Speaker, as one who is most consistently opposed to war and violence, I join my colleagues in condemning the brutal and unjustified attack on a Jewish community center in Argentina 14 years ago. I do not support this resolution, however, as it misuses a tragedy 14 years ago in a foreign country to push for US war against Iran today.

Although this resolution clearly blames Iran and Hezbollah for the bombing, in fact the investigation is ongoing and far from conclusive. In an article titled “ U.S. uses probe to pressure Iran ,” the Wall Street Journal earlier this year suggested that renewed US interest in this 14 year old case is more related to politics than a genuine desire for justice. Reported the Journal,

The Definition Of Insanity

Please, I realize that Eric, Lindsay and Kate aren't famous or rich or well-connected but they embody every hope and dream that exists within every man, woman and child on this planet; and like kids everywhere- in the US, Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Europe, Asia, Russia....everywhere, they deserve the chance to grow up and take their rightful place in the world.

Let's start the NoTax Party

"When I came from Sweden to the U.S. in 1966 with a suitcase, $800 and a degree in Electronics Engineering I was almost a Social Democrat. Over the years I became more conservative, and at one time Rush Limbaugh was on my radio most days. My reading was almost only science and technology, and I felt that other people had their good handle on their specialties.

"It was another big surprise to me that in the field of economics, about 95% of its writers, teachers etc. did not have a good understanding of their subject. . ."

An idiot's strategy to influence other idiots

"I have some doubts: this sort of half-witted public relations maneuver has occurred more than once in the party's shabby internal history, and is perfectly capable of standing on its own, as yet another example of the suit-and-tie clique—whose unspoken motto has always been "respectability above everything, especially including principle"—looking to suck up to whatever they perceive as the Establishment. I doubt they're smart enough to hatch this as a power play."

Enslaved FLDS mothers appeal to Texas governor to help kidnapped children

"SAN ANGELO, Texas — The mothers of children removed [kidnapped] from a West Texas polygamist sect's ranch after an abuse allegation are appealing to Gov. Rick Perry for help."

And this comment sums the situation up nicely:

Tubal wrote:

Wow. Baptist ministers* rape teen girls too. Let's go take all the Baptist kids and lock them up. Then when their mothers want to come see them, lets tell them no. Then when the mothers that they rounded up too want to call their loved ones to tell them what's happening, lets take away their cell phones.

Dating tips, or how to save your Marriage in one easy lesson

In reality, it takes two to tango and a marriage is both give and take. It constantly baffles me that the majority of American woman don't seem to understand that their husbands have biological needs. And you woman, by agreeing to be married, have committed your life to meeting those needs, and if you don't accept that, you should just start the divorce proceedings already.

Now men, don't think you get off scot free here, your wife has physical, biological, and emotional needs that you too have committed your life to meeting.

Making a Recession Great, by US Rep. Ron Paul

House Democrats recently adopted a budget with massive tax hikes, many of which are directed at those Americans who can least afford them. By allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire in 2010, this budget will raise income taxes not only on those in the highest income brackets, but raises the lowest bracket from 10% to 15% as well. Estates would again be taxed at 55%. The child tax credit would drop from $1000 to $500. Senior citizens relying on investment income would be hurt by increases in dividend and capital gains taxes. It's not just that the Democrats want to raises taxes on the rich. They want to raises taxes on everybody.

The problem is, policing the world is expensive, and if elected officials insist upon continuing to fund our current foreign policy, the money has to come from somewhere. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have already cost us over $1 trillion. The Democrats' budget gives the President all the funding he needs for his foreign policy, so one wonders how serious they ever were about ending the war. While Democrats propose to tax and spend, many Republicans aim to borrow and spend, which hurts the taxpayer just as much in the long run.

Can Foreign Aid Save Africa?, by US Rep. Ron Paul

Congress is poised to pass the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) authorizing up to $50 million in unconstitutional foreign aid. The bill passed out of the Foreign Affairs Committee with a bipartisan agreement to nearly double the President's requested amount. It is always distressing to see officials in our government reach across the aisle to disregard Constitutional limitations.

Much of this aid will run through government-to-government channels and will be vulnerable to corruption. Some of the aid will be sent to faith-based organizations who, along with accepting government largess, will now be subject to governmental controls and will soon become more dependent on taxpayer funding than private funds. If they accept the aid, they must be careful of the vague language regarding what types of programs they can run. For example, the requirement that 33% of any funding received must go toward abstinence-only programs has been dropped and replaced with a 50% requirement toward behavior change. Many humanitarian organizations are incensed by the politicized requirements placed on their work, and feel they are being forced to continue failed programs at the expense of more effective ones.

Libertarians, Old Guard Vs. New Blood, Fight at Eleven

Many of the old guard libertarians just don't get it. Ron Paul isn't an “Us vs. Them” internal libertarian / conservative republican fight, it's a:

Holy Crap! We're damn near Toast!

Is there ANY one we can support or even marginally get behind that will at least slow the United States slide into a drooling Hitler dreamscape of Big Brotherism?

Because I don't know about you, but I only see two options on the table. 1) Fight like hell, and 2) Get the fuck out.
