Presidential Election

Hillary, Ron Paul, and the End of Fascism

First, clean up your own house. Be glad that Hillary does not live with you and you don't have clean up after her.

Strange Bedfellows

Ron Paul? Pffffft! Pat knows Dr. Paul is not batshit crazy enough to play ball with his Rapture plans.

The Enemy Within: Cato and its Covert Agenda

They pretend to be all about freedom. But the fact is they are just scumbag NeoCon hires. For 30 years Cato has been the barrier to the coalition, right to left, that makes freedom in America possible.

Ron Paul is an honest, straight forward man, very unlike those associated with Cato. The Ron Paul Campaign is about getting local communities out of the grasp of federal control.

You need to know.

Latest attempt to stop Ron Paul, Register Now

From the "Anything to keep power" cabal, comes the latest on how to screw Dr. Ron Paul...

Many states, in an effort to shut out Ron Paul are now closing their primaries. That means that only Republicans can vote in the Presidential primaries for a Republican candidate. Many states are doing this quickly and quietly and giving people very little time to learn about the new rules. For example, New Hampshire decided only a week ago that you will now have to change your party affiliation by October 12, 2007 or it will be too late to do so. New Hampshire also has a closed primary and only Republicans and possibly Independents will be allowed to vote for Ron Paul.

Halloween is coming and Ron Paul needs to break through into the mainstream. If you don't have kids, rent them this Halloween. Between shoeleather and those plastic pumpkins we can take the Ron Paul Revolution onto new ground - and bring home the candy.

Libertarian Presidential Candidate Steve Kubby Endorses Ron Paul

Fort Bragg, CA -- Citing overwhelming support from his own party's members
and lackluster response to Libertarian presidential campaigns, Steve Kubby
today endorsed US Representative Ron Paul's campaign for the Republican
Party's 2008 presidential nomination. Kubby, a candidate in his own party's
presidential contest, made the endorsement in an interview from his home in
Mendocino County, California.

"I am not, and have never been, a Republican," says Kubby, 60, best known
for his work for cannabis legalization and on behalf of medical marijuana
patients. "For me, the Libertarian Party has always been, and remains, our
last best hope for achieving freedom through the American political process.
And until recently my position was that the Libertarian Party needed to
stick to its own guns, stake out its own territory. But sometimes a special
situation comes along."

The History of America You Most Need to Know.

As the Bush Administration continues its meltdown we can almost see past the NeoCons to....yet another group of corporate liegemen who will take up the same work of converting America into one large plantation owned and operated for the benefit of the Feudal Few. We must take action. But the action needed begins with understanding where freedom went wrong.

[fRtF] 3/2 - Everybody Supports the Troops, by US Rep. Ron Paul

Hi All,

We managed to secure the re-print rights for a great recent speech by U.S. Rep. Ron Paul. Ron Paul is exploring a 2008 Presidential Bid, and as one of the most libertarian thinking realistic potential Presidential candidates, we invite you to explore his site ( http://www.ronpaulexplore.com/ ) and offer him as much support as you are able.*

In other news, we've received two great comments by G.F. "Hookman" Brown this last week on Toll Road corruption. The first expounds on the method by which the Toll Road Authority can skim money by purposeful overcharges. And then he documents a third party source showing the proof of the overcharging. Corruption in Texas hasn't ever had it this good. See "Challenge Toll Roads and the Trans Texas Corridor" below.

Instead of questioning who has the best interests of our troops at heart, we should be debating which policy is best for our country. Defensive wars to preserve our liberties, fought only with proper congressional declarations, are legitimate. Casualties under such circumstances still are heartbreaking, but they are understandable. Casualties that occur in undeclared, unnecessary wars, however, are bewildering. Why must so many Americans be killed or hurt in Iraq when our security and our liberty were not threatened?

In reality, support for the status quo (and the president's troop surge) in Iraq means expanding the war to include Syria and Iran. The naval build up in the region, and the proxy war we just fought to take over Somalia, demonstrate the administration's intentions to escalate our current war into something larger.

Show Down in Crawford Texas: When the Truth Triumphed.

There was one moment in the 2004 campaign when the truth won through. W. Leon Smith, Editor of the Iconoclast in Crawford, Texas, endorsed John Kerry for reasons that were objective and honest. The eruption of vilification from Bush supporters were monumental. But most Americans recognized that one small paper had stood up and simply done the right thing, no matter what the cost.

Anyone can hog headlines by running for president. John Kerry is merely the latest master media manipulator to do so by announcing that he's not. Senate Majority Leadercrat Bill Frist not only rejected a 2008 bid for the White House, but is also retiring from politics altogether after serving 12 years as promised. The announcement stunned libertarians who noted that Frist actually served 12 years in the Senate after pledging to serve no more than 12 years in the Senate. Still, others have pointed out that the Tennessee pol remains under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission for insider trading. Rumors persist that Martha Stewart's old bunk is still available.

[fRtF] 1/12 - An open letter to the 110th Congress

Thought of the moment:
On our "Latest Good Blogs (offsite)" ( http://www.reasontofreedom.com/latest_good_blogs.html ) page is a link to a very nice fiction piece:

Title -- The Coup: After Midnight
Author -- Claire Wolfe of Backwoods Home
Snippet --

"At that moment -- that very, precise moment -- a deadly slide has started.

"Truly civilized people will stop. They'll say, "Never again. Not one more innocent life will be considered disposable. We will not only stop this. We will stop the attitudes and actions that led to this -- for the sake of all that's decent and just."

"Uncivilized people will yawn and say, "What's on the other channel?" Or worse, they'll hope that the other channel will be playing a reality show in which face-masked cops kick down doors and throw people to the ground while screaming obscenities.

"A society that tolerates that kind of thing -- even once -- is sliding downhill on gravel and broken glass.

"You have to choose. One way or the other. If you make the lazy, ignoble, uncaring choice, you can't honestly call your society free. Or just. Or healthy. Because, 'Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me.'"

Hope it resonates with you as much as it did with me,

An open letter to the 110th Congress, by Steve Kubby
http://www.reasontofreedom.com/an_open_letter_to_the_110th_congress.html
On January 3rd, our nation's 110th Congress opened its first session, following an election in which America's voters gave control of both bodies composing that institution to the Democratic Party for the first time in 12 years. Incoming Speaker Nancy Pelosi has announced that the "first 100 hours" of Congressional work time will be spent righting wrongs and pointing American government in a new direction. Change is in the air -- but what kind of change?

Thought of the moment:

Every freedom won for women in the United States, small or large—wearing bloomers, riding bicycles, not wearing bonnets in church, being permitted to speak in pubic, to attend universities, to enter professions, to vote, and own property—was opposed by the churches.

Since I declared my candidacy for our party's 2008 presidential nomination back in August, one of the most frequently asked questions of me has been "where do you stand on the war in Iraq?" Some of you have found my answers unsatisfactory. I apologize. I've been thinking through a problem and haven't found an answer ... so I'm just going to bring it to you. We need to talk about it.
