Yalumba 2002 Merlot South Australia

Yow! A rather non descript wine from down under. You might want to open this bottle after your serve the good wine first… It’s got a clear, bright ruby-violet color, which is good, but not a lot of structure to speak of. There seems to be plenty of berry notes with some moderate acidity but sadly, not a lot else. The balance is OK and the finish is rather short. There’s just not a lot of oomph to make this a better wine. It just kind of blah. No real off notes though, the one plus. Frankly, I think you can do better for the price.
