It first became newsworthy when Obama, Neophyte of the Presidency, fell under the thrall of the Census, abducted her from Commerce and whisked her off to the White House, much as Paris abducted Helen and scampered off with her to Troy.

Then it came out that the Former Illinois Community Organizer Barack Obama's favorite assemblage of activists, ACORN, would officially "partner" with the Census to help supply the 1.4 million foot soldiers needed for the massive people-counting effort. ACORN is variously known as The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, Democrat Party Brown Shirts, The Obama Youth Corps, Voter Fraud Experts Par Excellence, etc.

Republicans cried, "Power grab" again. But maybe they're just jealous that they don't have their own private army of ideology enforcers.
In any case, America's Founding Powdered Wig Wearers would be appalled at what modern politickers have done to the simple act of enumerating the people.
In their day it was simple. Each state sent two of its own to the Senate to represent them. They also sent a number of Representatives to the House of that name based on the population within each state. The more people, the more representatives. Hence the enumeration. Simple.
Today the census is a racket. It doesn't just count people, it manipulates the count to ensure that pockets of people who routinely vote for the polecats in power are higher while opposition voters are counted lower. Then, Congressional and local legislative districts are gerrymandered, which means drawing lines on maps to create areas guaranteed to vote for You while chopping up neighborhoods that usually vote for Them.
(It all gets reversed when the Polecats are out of power and the Other Polecats are in.)
Then there's the second census racket. As the middleclass pacifier Sunday newspaper insert, Parade Magazine, put it, "At stake is more than $300 billion a year in federal and state funds for schools, public transportation, hospitals, roads, and other services, all of which is allocated according to census figures."
In short, money stolen from citizens of the states in the form of federal taxes is sent back to the states as a yoke that binds everyone to the national throne in Washington. It ensures that everyone is shackled by shekels to the shysters in D.C.
And then there's the third racket: The census is used as a massive marketing survey that snoops deep into every aspect of taxpayer's lives, as well as digging $14 billion deep into taxpayer's pockets to pay for the unwanted snooping, and then turns the results over to corporate cronies gratis so politically-connected companies can better target us with their sales pitches.
During the 2000 census, libertarians did more than cry "Power grab."
They cried, "Boycott!"
The national Libertarian Party launched a highly successful "Just Say No To Nosy Census Questions" campaign.
"Census information is used to forge the chains that bind Americans to failed government programs, meddlesome bureaucracies, and a sky-high tax rate," said then LP National Director Steve Dasbach.
The Dallas Morning News quoted then LP spokesman George Getz on March 13, 2000: "The Libertarian Party is encouraging people to answer just one question on the census."
What question is that? The one question authorized by the U.S. Constitution - How many people are you?
Read the snippet at the beginning of this article again. The Constitution, being the Prime Law of this land, and having not had it's enumeration requirement amended, cannot be overruled by lower laws demanding that free and sovereign individuals divulge their race, whether they're married, how many bathrooms they have in their house, and other impertinent inquiries.
The Constitution says "Enumerate." Enumerate means "Count." It doesn't mean "snoop." It doesn't mean "spy." It doesn't mean "Intimidate people with threats of fines and jail time to force them to answer questions they have no Constitutional requirement to answer."
This time the boycott needs to be even bigger. The Libertarian Party needs to work with other freedom folks like the national Tea Party movement, Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty, Hispanic groups (Hispanic groups call for Census boycott – USA Today) and every human who actually cares about freedom.
And it needs to start right now.

I did not fill out the 2000 census. When a census taker came to my door I told them to get off MY Private Property. When the census person stood there I asked if they understood or did I have to play baseball and use their head as a ball. This person left and I never heard anything again.
I plan to do the same thing this year--if my government wants info from me my new attitude is that they can pay me for my time and I owe my government nothing and I want nothing in return except for government to leave me alone. This year I might even use a prop a baseball bat at my door.
(I would never use a bat on anyone unless I or my family was attacked---then I would use a gun)

It started with asking for my phone number and by the time I reached the next page my eyeballs were hanging out! How Freak'n Dare They!!! The first census that I received was in 1990...I tore it up and threw it out. Then I received one in 2000. I trashed that one too. And now the idiots are going to send me another one. Guess what? I will trash it too. Screw the government and screw Obama. BOYCOTT THE CENSUS!!

I took a part time job with the senseless bureau. They told me several times I would be reimbursed for driving my own vehicle to the training. When I got there, the place was locked up, no one showed up until 9:30...they "forgot" to call me and advise me of the time change.
When I went to the site I was to work at for the first day, guess what? Locked. Nobody answered. (most of these sites are churches who donate space) So the day was a wash. When I got home, I found out they had denied my measly $5 travel allowance, so I called them, told 'em I didn't like how they did business, and mentioned that they neede to get their materials back. (a cardboard box and some blank forms.) They had the nerve to tell me that I had to deliver it to their downtown office. I offered to return it to the work site, and they THREATENED TO SEND THE FBI TO ARREST ME!!!!!! I asked them what for, and they said it was "standard procedure," and that anyone who didn't deliver their material to their door was subject to arrest by federal authorities. This was the "management" of Local Census Office Brooklyn NW 2226. I have tried to make arrangements several times to drop this crap off...they don't return my calls.

I didnt fill out my Census in 2000....I stood there near the front door and watched the Douche bag stand there waiting for me to come to the door LOL! How Do Adopted Persons Fill Out the Census Race Question?
Recently, I found the 2010 Census form hanging on my door. As I began filling it out, I came across a dilemma. The U.S. government wants to know if my children are adopted or not and it wants to know what our races are. Being adopted myself, I had to put “Other” and “Don’t Know Adopted” for my race and “Other” and “Don’t Know” for my kids’ races.
Can you imagine not knowing your ethnicity, your race? Now imagine walking into a vital records office and asking the clerk for your original birth certificate only to be told “No, you can’t have it, it’s sealed.”
How about being presented with a “family history form” to fill out at every single doctor’s office visit and having to put “N/A Adopted” where life saving information should be?
Imagine being asked what your nationality is and having to respond with “I don’t know”.
It is time that the archaic practice of sealing and altering birth certificates of adopted persons stops.
Adoption is a 5 billion dollar, unregulated industry that profits from the sale and redistribution of children. It turns children into chattel who are re-labeled and sold as “blank slates”.
Genealogy, a modern-day fascination, cannot be enjoyed by adopted persons with sealed identities. Family trees are exclusive to the non-adopted persons in our society.
If adoption is truly to return to what is best for a child, then the rights of children to their biological identities should NEVER be violated. Every single judge that finalizes an adoption and orders a child’s birth certificate to be sealed should be ashamed of him/herself.
I'd really like to know how Uncle Sam wants adopted persons will sealed identities to answer the race question. Does the U.S. Government want us to lie or does it expect us to be psychic?

I am boycotting this Politically Correct SHAM of the US Government 2010 Census. One cool thing is I live in a Access-Controlled Condo Complex, but I have a feeling those MARXISTS at The Census Bureau will probably figure out a way to get in regardless. Oh well, go ahead and do your six separate visits Census COMMUNISTS, I just won't answer at all each time, and besides...I'll enjoy wasting the $57.00 that the Liberal Mass Media said it'll cost the Census Bureau to do their Non-Responsive Follow-Up to my household.

Not sure what the big deal is. A lot of people on here are saying they will not fill out the forms which I think is just costing the government more money, but being someone who has been unemployed for quite some time I can argue both sides. Boycotting something that has been around since the creation of the government that you live in and protects you from total anarchy just enables someone like me who is between work to actually work, be it temporary or not.
So you may think you're defeating the communists or something but really you're just giving someone a job. You may even think that the person knocking on your door is your enemy as well but they truly aren't. They are simply someone who is trying to pay their bills or put food on the table so that they may have the liberty of pursuing happiness.
What I can't believe is that someone would threaten a census worker with a bat if they came to their door (As was mentioned in a previous post). I thought the principle behind libertarianism was the pursuit of liberty without denying anyone else the same. What a joke.
If someone takes your money
If someone takes your money under threat of force (theft) and then spends it in a way to make it easier to steal from you and your neighbors again, do you want to make it easy and cost effective for them to carry out their racket or do you want it to be expensive and difficult for them?
I have no desire to make theft easy.
As for "giving" someone a job, when someone takes my money against my will with force or a threat of force and pays someone else to do something that is not me "giving" someone a job.
When you advocate this process so that you can "pursue happiness" you are doing it at the cost of someone else's pursuit of happiness.

Simply trying to pay bills or put food on the table is not an excuse for doing something that violates, or helps government to violate, the rights of others.

If a person goes to someone else's home, demands information and uses the implied threat of government force to try to gain compliance then that is wrong.

i had a door to door census taker show up at my house last night. i told him my name and the number of people that live in my house. when he asked me for more information, i told him the only question im required to disclose is the number of people in my household. he began to threaten the number of people that will continue to show at my house until i answer their questions and how un american i was. being prior military and serving my country, this irritated the fire out of me. i told him he was on private property and needed to leave right now. he turned to walk away and continued to tell me i was just not an "AMERICAN" who do these people think they are?!!!

The census worker can visit you up to six times. The census worker can legally ask your neighbors questions about you as long as the neighbor is 16 or older.
You have the right to question your census worker with the Public Servant Questionnaire.
Your can tell the census worker you want to be put on the Refusal List.
You can include a letter to the Census Bureau in your unanswered American Community Survey if you choose to return it unanswered.

I filled out the relevant first question and mailed it in.
After that I had several visits by one skinny middle-aged chick who expected me to give her answers to questions that I will not answer. She gave up in June. Today I had a fat middle-aged woman park her car in my driveway (an unacceptable encroachment as there is plenty of street parking) and walk up with a Census tote (what? she can't carry her things in her hands or use her own? she had to have one I paid for? seriously?). I told her "1" and ordered her off. She threatened to call the sheriff to force me to answer her list of bs. Apparently she doesn't know much about LEO in this county, nevermind anything else.
But I didn't appreciate the threat, no matter how empty. What kind of POS goes around thinking it is okay to come on someone else's property and behave that way? So I told her to go ahead, bring the SWAT team.
What a sorry sorry person, enabling the corrupt and out of hand government. Exactly how do people think evil gets done? Dictators, thieves and thugs depend on people like this. Rarely does one person cause a lot of harm, rather it is the accumulated action of "ordinary" people taking things they have no right to, allowing things that should not be, barely crossing one more line.
