Pinot Evil, Pinot Noir France

It has a cute name, but behind the label is a rather unremarkable wine. No real off notes, but it needs more oomph to get anyone’s attention, like mine. It might not be bad with dinner, but definitely not for drinking on its own.

It has a clear, bright light violet color with a little structure to the wine. There are some faint berry notes (think blackberry) and some even fainter cherry notes. The berry notes seem to follow through onto your palette, and little else. There is some moderate dryness (astringency) and fairly low acidity. The balance is good, and the finish medium, but more flavor intensity would have helped here.
