Let's hope Turkey plays tit for tat

Hi Tom,

To be fair, the ICC and the Trans-Texas Toll Corridor (the Texas part of the NAFTA Superhighway) are shackles to US national sovereignty. Both should be fought and both show huge corruptions of power and privilege. But even given the bad examples I know what you mean. Paul isn't entirely consistent on sticking with constitutional logic in making some of his statements and speeches. This would definitely be one of them. I think his speech should have been along the lines of, sure we can do this, it doesn't accomplish anything, and let's hope Turkey plays tit for tat and passes resolutions on the US's treatment of Native and African Americans.

A truer (desired) statement by Paul should have read something like: “The US shouldn't pass worthless resolutions one way or the other. It's a waste of the taxpayer's money.”

But he's in politicking mode, so expect him to say something just to keep his name in the public eye. I'm just hoping he doesn't stoop to spouting contrived controversial statements, like most marketing theory suggests, just to get the name recognition.

All the best,
MJ
