It’s a nice blend – a very nice blend – from South Africa. It manages to hit all the right notes for me and perhaps you too. Try some today, as the price is certainly right. This is the 2nd wine from these guys I’ve given a good grade too. Maybe I’m slipping. This is one of those wines you wonder what might taste like in another year.
This one has a clear, bright, deep (and I mean deep) violet color and surprisingly for a wine so young, some structure too. There are plenty of berry notes (blackberry mostly), some nice acidity but very low tannins. It’s my kind of red wine. There is also a nice balance and a medium finish. They seem to have balanced the best of Cabernet and Pinotage grapes to their best effect. And the result is a remarkable and very drinkable wine, at least to me.
