Freedom of religion

We live in a country which is supposed to have as the supreme law of the land a constitution and bill of rights. Among other things, that bill of rights provides for the free exercise of religion.

Evidently, many of the practices of the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints church members are unusual compared to how other Texans choose to live. However, their free exercise of religion should not be infringed just because some American soldiers died in 1858 fighting the "Utah War" against polygamy.
