Texas Hills 2006 SyrahSubmitted by bob.bacchus on Tue, 2008-07-29 12:00.I’m still looking for a great Syrah at a reasonable price and I don’t think this is the one. It’s a clear, bright ruby-violet colored wine but with a fair amount of astringency. There are some good berry notes to the wine, but not really much of a nose. It’s a smoother wine that it’s stable mate the Cabernet Sauvignon, making it better for sipping than dinner. The balance is good, and the finish medium.
