Petit Bistro 2005 Merlot France

Not spectacular by any means....

Although its got a clear, bright violet color and there's some nice berry notes to this one, there isn't much else. It has a decidedly "washed out" taste. There are no real off-notes and the balance, acidity and finish are OK, but what this wine needs is a bit more intensity. Strictly a dinner wine. Better sipping choices might be the Corq Dorq 2004 or the Canyon Oaks 2005. A synthetic cork.
