"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein
Libertarian Party and Ron Paul groups all over the country are heading out to their nearest Federal Reserve Banks this weekend to take part in the 4th nationwide End the Fed protest.
Which proves you don't have to be an Einstein to disprove Einstein's definition of insanity; all you have to be is Texas Rep Ron Paul.
"For three decades, Texas congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul's extreme brand of libertarian economics consigned him to the far fringes even among conservatives." – Los Angeles Times
In other words, Paul has been called insane for 30 years for demanding an end to the Fed over and over again and expecting different results.
And those different results, contrary to Albert, have finally materialized.
That's not insanity, that's dedication.
According to Govtrack.us, 319 Reps have climbed aboard Paul's HR 1207: Federal Reserve Transparency Act bandwagon while the companion bill in the Senate, S 604: Federal Reserve Sunshine Act, has been friended by 32 cosponsors.
True, his original End the Fed effort, HR 833: Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act, still sits on the shelf with nary an ally from either side of the aisle, but that merely means it requires continued insanity, or dedication, as the case may be.
It doesn't take an Einstein to figure that out.
"Paul's long-derided proposal to give Congress supervisory power over the traditionally independent Federal Reserve appears to be on its way to becoming law." – Los Angeles Times
