Stupid story
Hi, im sorry but this story is totally stupid...
School has nothing to do with wealth.
The government helps corporations make more money by giving them grants, R&D funds, loose credits, tax breaks etc...
I think its only fair that corporations should pay more than individuals since they benefit from the system more...
Sure its hard to build a company, but once its up and running and you've paid your dues, it doesnt mean you can exploit the system.
Once youve got money, its alot easier to make more of it with much less work involved.
I think that all taxes should be the same for everyone... the problem is that when you are a huge corporation youve got 20 accountant / legal / advisors working full time figuring out ways to save money... most of the methods they use arent even possible to use for individuals.
This story is stupid because at the end you say that the 4 gpa should be shared with the 2gpa to make it 3 for both girls... this is unfair, and there is no reason why someone should ask for this. Taxes and public services are applied to EVERYONE, grades in school are individual, these 2 concept dont mix.
Fairness should be equal distribution based on usage... so if you have a "water slide theme park" you should pay more for water than if you just live in a normal house... because, guess what ? you use alot more of it.
Corporations, receives millions and millions of money from governments every year, so its only fair that they should give back to society , because the money they get from governments is the money we all pay as taxes..
[Interestingly Rasta, you've re-stated our point that those that work for it, should keep it, and not be forced to give it away. Thanks! --MJ]
