Now that the election is over I'm afraid more emphasis will be placed on the War on Drugs. This frightens me greatly as it is a perfect example of American Federal Power out of control!
I had no horse in the Presidential election so I began to take some notes on other issues that may need some information shed on them. Both Dems and Reps are very keen on this War on Drugs and I'm not certain they realize what they are really promoting.
Combine the Federal Power of the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms with the War on Drugs and you have developed a monster that is well beyond the legal bounds clearly laid out in the Constitution. Apparently this massive new War has the power to break into our homes, search our possessions and seize our computers looking for evidence of drug purchases or sales; all this without a court order.
The FBI is working on a computer program that will break into our data banks and emails searching for key words that will then be added to their database to profile us all.
When this information meets up with the Identification Cards and census facts, the U.S. Government will have complete files on every single American with our health histories, employment records, credit ratings, Federal and State Income tax records, voter registrations, investment records, i.e., every single thing about us!
All this information is being compiled to help the Federal Government fight the War on Drugs! My question is "how?" How will a billion dollar database possibly help catch the drugs being imported from Columbia? Will the U.S. borders be surrounded by computers? What about all the small airports that can be found miles around the Mexican borders?
Remember, this terrible intrusive database will be used by the American Federal Government against American citizens!! Does this sound acceptable to any of us? Must we spend billions of taxpayer's dollars to trap our family members and ourselves for jail terms? Who designed this intrusive and illegal program anyway?
Let's take a look at a famous quotation for a different perspective:
"The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government". Patrick Henry...
Let's leave the War on Drugs for a minute and take a look at other social issues that could join the list of possible "wars."
Pornography. Add to the database any web sites that the citizen has opened. I opened one the other afternoon by accident. It was shocking! I found I could not "back" out and had a problem. I had to close windows to do it! If that got on my FBI file I would die of embarrassment.
Prostitution. Bank statements and travel tickets that seemed suspicious would be noted in our files and kept under many possible investigations for the future.
Let me digress for a minute to allow for all to consider what the I.R.S. could do with this information. I'm not suggesting that anyone would deliberately cheat on his or her taxes and I'm certain none of you do. My question is whether you want any of this information made available to any Federal Government level.
Don't forget your children. Their school records are now being compiled for profiling to check for their medical records, their stability evaluations as well as their grades. It's all there for the Federal Government to use.
I left the best for last.
Abortion. According to the Federal Government, the procedure is legal. But the threat of a new Supreme Court appointment could change this immediately. Now what have we got? A special category just for women only! Men aren't allowed in this one.
The first thing the computer operators will have to do is to divide the women up into two categories: breeders and those who are beyond the age of breeding. It won't matter if the woman is married or single, breeder is the category to watch for. This shouldn't be too difficult to track with medical records already available. Surveillance agents may have to be called in to follow any woman who has discovered she is indeed pregnant. Hmmm, I wonder if they have any trained dogs that could sniff out a pregnant woman? I'll have to check that one out. Gosh they could set up dogs at the airports and train stations to see if a pregnant woman would dare to enter our country.
When I was young, abortion was illegal and many of my age generation who found themselves in trouble simply flew to Europe to have an abortion, spent a week in the south of France and flew home, problem solved. Now if the airports were carefully watched and the dogs allowed their sniff, this could never happen again!!!
Planned Parenthood clinics would be forced to allow their customers information sheets to be added to the FBI files so that any pregnancy would be instantly recorded. The school records might also have this valuable information to be used by the government.
Another valuable possibility are the friends of the females who could turn them in for points that might help them if they too got into trouble. I believe this is currently used by the police in the War on Drugs.
There is a great possibility that if this War on Drugs continues, it would be impossible for any American citizen living anywhere in the United States to sin without detection. Doesn't that just warm the cockles of your heart?
Let's see what would this cost? Actually the schools might find themselves with smaller classrooms due to the young girls all being behind bars on one charge or another. We all realize that no young man will ever be booked on an abortion charge. Have you forgotten that boys will be boys? So the boys will have the classrooms to themselves so they can stop flirting and start getting educated! Maybe they will also learn to read.
So we will save the cost of building schools, but we will need to build jails and prisons. Lots of Federal prisons will be needed for the FBI to hold all the American Citizens who were caught sinning!
This is all well within reason folks! Once the Conservative house/senate meets with the Conservative white house, Godzilla will start looking good. Could we have stopped this? Only by voting for the Libertarian Party.
