Barton & Guestier 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine is reaching its peak. Might want to drink it all now. Under $7 if you can still find it.

Some really nice cherry notes seem prominent. No “legs” to speak of however. Cherry notes follow through on the palate. It’s a four year old wine and may be reaching its peak before the enviable decline. After four years in the bottle it’s “twang” at the end has been largely mitigated leaving a relatively balanced finish. But this wine is probably at its peak. Drink it now.

Its best enjoyed with a mature wood Nymph. She has the experience to enjoy its woody undertones and its lightly opened cherry essence.

Silenus

Grade: B+. About $7 if you can still find it.

We opened a bottle recently and it still seems to be in pretty good shape, but the color is beginning to change, indicating it's starting it's decline. There's maybe 1 to 2 years more with this wine...
