Keep these items in mind:

1. Government never “gave” us our rights. We already had rights. People with rights created the American government and gave it certain powers.

2. A government powerful enough to guarantee our rights is powerful enough to violate our rights.

3. The “ideal government” (an oxymoron to anarchists) would intervene in citizen’s affairs only to protect against or punish coercion.

Every “ism” mentioned above has intervened to coerce (regulate) us. “Progressive” is and has been for decades (since well before the time of Teddy Roosevelt) a pseudonym for “socialist.” Socialism (aka modern liberalism), in the form of the welfare state, the warfare state, the corporate state, cannot work without coercion. “Democracy” is nothing more than 51% of people regulating and coercing the other 49%. What good are those “protective rights as outlined in the Bill of Rights” when so many people with so many “isms” have acted to destroy our rights?
