Some nice cherry with berry undertones greet your nose with this wine. The color is good with good viscosity considering I was checking this in “field trip” mode using a plastic cup. (Hey, these tastings aren’t always in a controlled environment.) Unfortunately, this wine had an extremely poor finish. Plastic cup not withstanding, the wine had a decidedly mineral or metallic taste followed by an almost astringent or medicinal taste at the end.
With it already being 3 years in the bottle, waiting any longer for its character to improve probably won’t be a good bet. And what character it does development will be bad character at least in my book.
Truly astounding. I’m at a loss for words to describe this wine.
