Schmitt Sohne 2004 Riesling

It has a nice straw color (if a bit on the thin side) with some very low viscosity -- its alcohol content is only 9 percent – and a very clear wine. The soft sweetness isn’t overpowering even if this is a Riesling. I can’t discern much in the way of nose notes, but it has some nice fruit (pear?) on the taste buds that makes it a pretty good sipping wine. Some “twang” at the end gives this wine a good finish. Good for just sipping and as the teaser said a replacement for the White Zins you may have been drinking.
