J.Lohr 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon California

The wine has a deep violet to purple color and is somewhat opaque but not cloudy. It has plenty of viscosity. Legs are slow to develop, indicating a wine with some structure. I detect cherry/kirsh notes with maybe some anise or licorice as a backup but that’s hard to tell. The berry notes follow though on the palette with some nice acidity. This seems to give a nice balance to the wine with a medium to long finish. Mmmmm…good for drinking or with some beef entrée.

Good enough to choke a horse. Best served on a tart with a sweet chocolate drizzle. Not that I DIDN’T finish the amphorae.
