Frontera 2005 Merlot Chile

It’s got a nice clear, light garnet color with no viscosity to speak of which might indicate poor structure and body. This youthful wine has some decent berry notes (blackberry maybe) not a lot of sweetness and moderate acidity yielding a slightly astringent aftertaste. Not too bad, but it doesn’t yield a balanced wine and it gives a moderate finish. Definitely aerate this wine. It really improves the finish on this.

Not old, not young, but just not that good. The boys won’t like it, but neither will it be of use to lift the dress of any of the girls. Find something else. Even lamb marinade deserves better.
