Dear Friends and Members:

        I hope most of you already know that big things are happening in our  
anti-corruption movement to STOP the Trans-Texas Corridor and freeway  
tolls.

        Attached is a pdf flier [the ugly text version of flier] you can send around to your friends, family and co-
workers to ask them to join you at the rally Against the Trans-Texas  
Corridor (and animal tagging too!) on Friday, March 2, starting at  
1:30 pm.  (PLEASE NOTE:  a time previously sent for 12 noon, is  
incorrect!)

        Something else--URGENTLY & EQUALLY IMPORTANT!!!  Thursday, March 1,  
starting at 8:30 a.m., is a hearing called by Senator John Carona,  
chair of the Senate Transportation and Homeland Security Committee.  
He wants to hear from folks across the state about the Corridor, the  
freeway tolls and public/private partnerships -- that's the  
Governor's apparent plans to sell off our state's assets to the  
highest bidder!

        This critical hearing will be held in the Capitol Extension  
Auditorium, Room E1.004.  Please come to Austin for both events, IF  
AT ALL POSSIBLE! --- and please, right away, call your County Judge,  
Commissioners and your Mayor.  Ask him or her to round up the local  
elected officials to come speak at this hearing.  Local governments  
across the state are tired of the Governor riding rough shod over  
them and, more importantly their constituents -- us!  You can also  
ask them to help you get busloads of folks to Austin for the rally  
the next day!

        Then, PLEASE SEND ME A NOTE AT [ljcurtis at indytexans dot org], to let me  
know what response you're getting, particularly from your local  
County Judge and Commissioners.  We will be following up, based on  
this information.

        If you are planning on bringing in busloads, or need any assistance,  
please email me at the same email address.  If you plan to be in  
Austin for both days, we will send you a list of recommended hotels  
and motels, and their price ranges.
