Aaku 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon South AustraliaSubmitted by bob.bacchus on Wed, 2007-02-21 18:15.It’s an OK wine now, but a year from now might be better. And don’t forget to let it BREATH! This is a clear, bright wine with a deep violet color. Upon opening there are some nearly over powering berry (and maybe a whiff of bacon) notes with some earthy under notes. There’s also a health kick of tannins too. It’s a very dry (little sweetness) wine that’s a lot better if it has been decanted or allowed to breath 15-20 minutes before consuming it. If allowed to breath the balance and finish improve quite a bit and the tannins moderate somewhat too. It’s good now, but might be better with another year under its belt, in spite of the screw top cap. Grade: B- Price: $7 Wine Reviewed: Reply |
