The State of the Union is a Real Mess

I am far more interested in Senator Webb's comments after the Bush speech last night. I watched and dozed through Bush's words as they did not represent any of his actions since he first took office. Bush has been on his own trek through America disregarding any semblance to honest and moral actions. I felt the only hope to survive another 2 years might be found in Senator Webb's words.

He started out trying to improve education, making healthcare affordable and how to restore New Orleans. He wants the government to fix what ails us and is a very dangerous request as with a closer look it is the government who destroyed any chance at a correction in our academic curriculums and then having the Congress get involved in who received the grant money for our health care. New Orleans was poorly designed and our government didn't have a clue how or why.

Every school child knows that the Federal government has cut deals with Middle Eastern nations to sew up our oil supplies and of course failed.

Senator Webb mentioned in fact that our corporations are making millions on the sale of their products but their employees are not being paid well enough to share in the profits. So the next step will be government controls over the profits and wages paid to equal this whole thing up. Think about that!!!

America based the economy on Capitalism. What the Democrats and Republicans have missed is the ability for all Americans to gain from a high Dow Jones and the profits made by our corporations. Not all of us took advantage of a higher education or were born into wealth but we all had the opportunity to live on less income so we could invest in corporations run by a good market. Americans often make bad decisions and would rather own a home that can never be paid off and cars and toys that run out credit cards beyond our ability to pay off. With all this debit hanging over our lives, the cost of health care is determined to be the killer. Bad decisions are the killer and personal responsibilities are handed to the government to fix.

50 years ago most of us went to work for corporations who offered stock options as well as a pretty good wage. It was good for our income tax payments and kept us working to improve the corporation itself. It comes down to how we spend our money and why we would deliberately put ourselves into massive debt instead of seeing to the education of our children and learning how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Senator Webb had the opportunity to be the cheer leader for people who are simply fed up with the corruption being toted by the Bush Administration. He simply added to the whining of the "have nots" in demanding a fix from the Federal government to redistribute the wealth and then all will be well. Hell, LBJ had the same program and his war on poverty did nothing but introduce us all to Socialism. It failed then and very likely will be tried again.

I hear nothing about the values of Capitalism, individual choices in how we live work and invest. Under the Republican and Democratic plans for education our kids will continue to be dumbed down and if Hillary Clinton returns to the White House, our kids will be brained washed into socialism handing her curriculum training for our kids to follow the authority of Big Daddy and forever giving up their own accomplishments in favor of what the Government wants. Bush is responsible for this mess called our schools. He has mandated some of the most damaging programs that have done nothing for the schools or the kids.

It is sad for me to see this Socialism being introduced as a solution to the horrors of the Bush years. I have to realize that America as we know it is over. None of our leaders and voters has a goal to even try to bring back integrity and honesty in our government and we all will have to learn to live under the only solution being offered to us at this time. It is an arm of welfare and don't call it anything else.

Unless we can come up with a new political platform that encourages individual investments, individual choices in schools and start planning for our own family expenses and retirement we are doomed to continue to look at the government to fix our problems.

When we elect corruption that has been draped in religion, we might as well give it up. When we finally woke up to the real President Bush, the only place we can turn is to more federal authority because there is no real leadership being shown in either party. We elected the wrong man in 2000 but we had no alternative as the Democrats offered nothing of value and the religious right took over the GOP. It was a disaster waiting to take America into another Crusade. It worked!

The Democrats never change and want America to head deeper and deeper into Federal Socialism and the Republicans are still mired in religion, manipulations and lies. There is no plus for America and possibly never will be again. America is a reflection of what is wrong in the American family. It is all show, no basis in security and the only subject that wakes people up is American Idol.

2008 will again be a fight over how to use and abuse our federal government. Our candidates will have to be drawn through a sieve of whether they are pro-life or unacceptable and nothing else! We can look at the Christian Coalition and tip our hats to them that they won the fight and lost the nation's independence.

Between the State of the Union Address and the rebuttal, I see no hope for America to ever again lead the world in anything.
