Fisheye 2005 Chardonnay CaliforniaSubmitted by bob.bacchus on Fri, 2007-04-06 17:00.I tried this on an airplane flight to New York. It might not “jump out of your glass” as the label suggests, but a worthy change of pace for the white Zinfandel you may be drinking, and inexpensive to boot. It’s a wine with a little structure but a clear, pale, bright straw color. You’ll definitely detect some fruit (apple perhaps). And it’s slightly sweet, more like a Zin than a Chardonnay. Any oak you might taste is definitely muted, making this wine a good choice for sitting on the patio and sipping. The balence is somewhat flat but ok, and the finish is short to medium. It’s a nice wine, but gets a lower grade as it really doesn’t taste like a typical Chardonnay. Grade: B- Price: $6 Wine Reviewed: Reply |
