Llano 2005 Chenin Blanc Texas USA

It’s drinkable wine from Texas. Try this one instead of the typical White Zin you might be uncorking tonight.

It has a clear, bright medium-pale straw color with out much structure. There are some definite fruit notes, (Apple? Pear? Tutti-Frutti? ) and some sweetness, it’s definitely not a dry wine. Its sweetness is a bit more genuine, not cloyingly sweet like some White Zinfandels I’ve tried. And it is better slightly chilled. There doesn’t seem to be any off notes and the balance is OK but the finish short. It also seems to hold up uncorked over a couple of days, a plus.

Grade: C+ Price: $8
