Actually, it's Edgar's creator who wants your money.
A libertarian animator named Tomasz Kaye needs your voluntary donations so he can finish his short film of freedom in time for the 2012 Elections.
The video is Edgar the Exploiter, described as "An animation showing the hidden costs of government intervention."
Kaye needs $3,000 from crowd funding in the next couple of weeks to complete production on schedule.
"Edgar" is a sequel to his earlier work called George Ought to Help, which asks liberals to reconsider the concept of government-coerced redistribution of wealth. If progressives wouldn't personally force one of their friends to give money to another, how, the narrator asks, can they justify asking government to do the forcing for them?
The story ends by asking people to do a web search on such concepts as the non-aggression principle, voluntaryism, libertarianism, and stateless society.
In his pitch video at IndieGoGo Kaye calls his new endeavor, Edgar the Exploiter, "a gentle pro liberty propaganda piece."
"Based on the success of 'George'," Kaye says, "I expect 'Edgar' to be viewed, re-posted and discussed widely. It will help spread understanding of how political interventions, even when enacted with the best intentions, can end up hurting those they're supposed to help."
Those in the freedom movement like libertarians, voluntaryists, anarcho-capitalists, Tyranny Fighters, and Libertarian partyarchs wanting to use it for campaign fodder who believe this sounds like a project worthy of support should go directly to Kaye's campaign page on IndieGoGo, watch his video, read the comments, and make a donation.
