Elephants & Donkeys? It's all the same zoo

An email called Elephants & Donkeys has been sweeping mindlessly back and forth across the ignor-net from one inbox to another that attempts to paint Republicans as Good Guys and Democrats as the Baddies.

For example:

"If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one. If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed."

Well, not exactly. The Republican authoritarians want guns licensed and permitted by bureaucrats in defiance of the clear meaning of the Second Amendment, and they think that everyone in a uniform should impose "law and order" at gunpoint even when the "law" creates victimless crimes and the "order" violates rights. Republicans just want their own flavor of Government-by-Nanny.

"If a Republican is a vegetarian," another example says, "he doesn't eat meat" while a Democrat vegetarian "wants all meat products banned for everyone."

But those good old conservative GOPers sure want the tax-gobbling FDA "protecting" them even as the FDA protects its own power base and the meat industry's profits through sweetheart regulations. Republicans pretend it's "the free market" while every libertarian knows it's really "corporatism" or "crony capitalism," just other names for corruption.

Another "distinction" is:

"If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life. If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect."

But of course all those wild-eyed fundamentalist religious right Republican gay haters want all homosexuals forcibly "cured." Too bad there's no cure for wild-eyed fundamentalist religious right Republican gay haters.

Here's another:

"If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his."

Translation from the GOP Gray-Haired Gospel: "Repeal tax-funded Democrat-created Obamacare but don't touch my tax-funded Democrat-created Medicare!"

And finally:

"If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh. A Democrat will delete it because he's 'offended.'"

But a libertarian will both laugh and delete it because it's nothing more than Republican big government statists pretending to be superior to Democrat big government statists while ignoring the real "live and let live" Good Guys: libertarians.

The trillions in taxpayer booty ladled out to the banksters and corporate comrades by the Bush and Obama regimes proves that the Bookend Parties, each in its own way, are anti-freedom control freak powercrats.

Some difference.
