This wine has a good color (almost a purple red) for a Merlot and appears to be uncloudy. Its nose seems to reveal mostly Cherry notes with some berry undertones. However, the berry seems to predominate on the taste buds more than the cherry. It’s definitely a dry wine to almost an almost astringent effect leaving a somewhat bitter aftertaste. Because of this the balance will be poor. Its viscosity isn’t so much seen as “legs” as sheets. Not a huge detriment considering some of its other shortcomings.
Grade: C+ Price: about $11.
“Goes well with a gamey piece of meat, not meant for wooing.” –Silenus.
