Nobel 2003 Merlot France

It’s named Noble, which might indicate a regal wine. In this case it’s more likely it indicates old. It’s a pass for me on this one.

This aging wine has a clear, somewhat dull red to brick red color. It has some berry notes (Cherry and Blackberry) and some moderate acidity, but its main problem is age. This 2003 vintage is getting a little long in the tooth and the color of the wine would indicate. It has an OK balance and a short to medium finish, but its main problem is it’s past its peak. It’s not vinegar yet, but it may be soon on its way.
