Jury Nullification: The Ed Forchion Interview

In an earlier article, "The Weedman trial: Did the jury really nullify?" Ed "NJWeedman" Forchion claimed that he won his two trials by using a jury nullification defense while all of the local media covering his trials reported that the judge prevented him from doing so.

More generational warfare from Cato Institute?

In their email announcement for their October 25 Student Forum, "Are Mom and Dad Stealing Your Future?" the Cato Institute, as Reason magazine has done in the past, is saying this about Social Security and Medicare:

Russell Means remembered by Libertarians

Russell Means, 72, died Monday at his South Dakota ranch from inoperable throat cancer.

The Associated Press article posted at whitewolfpack.com recounts his career as an American Indian Movement activist during the 1973 uprising at Wounded Knee, as a candidate for the Libertarian Party's nomination for president in 1987, as an actor in such films as "The Last of the Mohicans" in 1992, and as a relentless advocate for civil rights for all Americans, not just American Indians.

Can Libertarians and Progressives really work together?

A PolicyMic article recognizes that both progressives and libertarians have a "noble impulse" to improve society.

But the article also acknowledges that progressives think they can accomplish their desires by "expanding government's roles and responsibilities" while Libertarians understand that these goals can be achieved only by "limiting government's roles and responsibilities."

America pretends not to be socialist, fascist, colonialist

The United States today operates under a muddle of old-style European socialism, fascism and colonialism with Americanized definitions designed to hide that reality.

America's social policy, with its unending bureaucratic programs to "help" the poor, the needy, the children, the disabled, the disenfranchised that benefits the authoritarian ruling class at the expense of productive citizens is the direct result of the Democrat Party adopting and implementing the old Socialist Party of America platform along with its class warfare under the now unpopular name "liberalism."

Why I'm not a libertarian – again

It's always fun to read one of the many "Why I'm not a libertarian" articles that continually pop up on the Internet year after year after year, even as libertarianism continues to be discovered and captured by ever more open and excited minds.

Typing the phrase "Why I'm not a libertarian" into Google, with quotation marks, will get you page upon page of results of postings and videos, all with the identical title.

While non-libertarians have endless reasons for rejecting their own freedom they apparently have a paucity of imagination when it comes to titling their articles.

SEAL spills beans on Osama raid, labeled 'traitor'

It didn't take long for big government worshippers to condemn "Mark Owen" (nom de plume for US Navy SEAL Matt Bissonnette) as a "traitor" for telling his fellow Americans the truth about what actually happened during the Osama bin laden raid in his just-released book, "No Easy Day."

Politics, tax money corrupts Global warming 'science'

The Libertarian News Examiner occasionally writes articles belittling the politicized Algorian version of Global Warming and occasionally takes flack for it.

So let's examine some of that flackery:

New War: Just substitute 'Iran' for 'Iraq,' 'nuke' for 'WMD'

On December 16 The Daily Caller ran this headline on its original home page sandwiched between the blistering banner 'MATERIAL SUPPORT' and a giant full color photo of the Twin Towers exploding:

Federal judge: Iran shares responsibility for 9/11 terror attacks

For folks who don't pay much attention, the self-chosen Ruling Class and its sit-up-and-beg mainstream media pets have been spoon-feeding us a steady diet of warmongering propaganda the same way they did under Bush leading up to the invasion of Iraq.

Global Warmers betrayed by bald-faced honesty

While barely reported in US mainstream media, which comes as little surprise to libertarians, two top US hurricane forecasters at Colorado State University admitted they "are quitting the practice of making a seasonal forecast in December because it doesn't work."

For 20 years William Gray, recently joined by Phil Klotzbach, has been preeminent at making December forecasts on how many named storms and hurricanes to expect during each official June-to-November hurricane season.

Chris Wallace discredits, discounts, disowns Ron Paul

Fox News Pundit Chris Wallace told Fox news Pundit Neil Cavuto that if Ron Paul wins the Iowa caucuses it would discredit the Iowa caucuses.

"Well, the Ron Paul people are not going to like my saying this," Fox News Pundit Chris Wallace said on Fox News Pundit Neil Cavuto's show, "Your World with Neil Cavuto," and then said anyway, "but to a certain degree it will discredit the Iowa caucuses because rightly or wrongly, I think most of the Republican establishment thinks he is not going to end up as the nominee, so therefore Iowa won't count."

Forget witch hunt, Obama approves American Terrorist Hunt

Herr Obama signed a bill (NDAAFY2012) that declares American soil to be part of the worldwide battlefield in the War on Terror and any American citizen merely suspected or accused of some form of "complicity" with terrorists will be treated on that battlefield not as a citizen with rights but as an enemy combatant with no rights whatsoever.
