When Power Speaks Truth

It's rare enough in this age of politician worship and dutiful rules-following for a citizen to speak truth to Power, but it's outright stunning when Power speaks truth to citizens. The Chattanoogan – General Sessions Court Judge Bob Moon told a woman who had been badly beaten during a carjacking to "purchase a weapon, obtain a gun permit and learn to protect yourself." Crime in the city, said the judge, "has become so rampant that it is no longer possible for the police department to protect our citizens." Will this judge be severely censored by his fellow rulingcrats or is it possible to imagine honest, principled events like these in the future?
