Zardetto Procecco Brut NV Italy

It’s a likable wine, if a little short on the flavor department. Good by itself, or with a lunch that’s not going to overpower it.

Castano Solanera 2004 Red Wine Spain

It’s a better red wine for dinner perhaps than for just sipping. Letting this wine breath 20 minutes before imbibing will help, but may not totally overcome all its issues.

Badger Mountain 2006 Chardonnay Columbia Valley Washington

A nice blue bottle, but with a screw top cap. The wine inside is different than a typical chardonnay you might be looking for. Not a bad wine per se, just a little different.

Rosemount Estates 2004 Hills of Gold Chardonnay Australia

Not quite as “golden” as it’s name might imply. For the price, you could probably do better. This particular bottle had cork problems. Hopefully, it’s not indicative of problems overall.

Mulderbosch 2006 Cabernet Rose' South Africa

I’ll admit drinking Roses’ are not on high on my list. And this one seems to be a typical Rose’ to me.

Marquee 2004 Cabernet-Merlot Australia

Another “find” at the tasting counter of a local grocery store. It’s nicely drinkable, by itself or with a dinner.

Carignan Very Old Vines 2003 Vin de Pays de L'aude France

Damn the French! I expected something better than this (Grade: D). Perhaps this was the dregs from a batch they decided to bottle and ship to us unsophisticated Americans. Little do they know. I’ll be taking Silenus’ advice: deglaze a pan with it.

Il Dragone Barbera D'Asti Italy

It's pretty darn good for a wine you might not have heard of. Drink it now....

Santa Cristina 2003 Antinori Toscana Sangiovese Italy

About a B or B-. Invite some some not so close friends over for this one. Price? I recollect less than $12.

Franciscan Oakville Estate 2004 Chardonnay

It's maybe a C or C+. Drinkable, but nothing to write home about.
