Redwood Creek? France? You know, I’m seeing more and more of this. French wines with American names. Shouldn’t Napa Valley protest to the International Trade Commission over this? We can’t call our sparkling wines Champagne. Why should they get to use American names for their wines? And it’s a somewhat pedestrian wine that is best suited for dinner than for sipping.
It’s a clear, bright shallow to pale ruby-violet color. There plenty of astringency with this one as some moderate tannins. What it lacks is something that looks like a flavor or aroma. There are some faint berry notes to discern with your nose and palette. But there’s not much beyond that. You could do better with other Pinot Noir choices. Two recent ones that come to mind are: Pizza Vino and Arrow Creek. Try those first…..

i agree-arrow creek is the one.
I don't have a lot of money to spend on wines,so I try to pick out the best in the $6-$15 range.
One of these was the Redwook Creek Pinot Noir.
I thought it was OK. For the money,it was actually a better value than more expensive ones w/out surrendering too much quality in taste and complexity. But,I could see that it was/is a "cheap" wine. Good enough to get by on a budget, but leaving something to be desired.
Then I found Arrow Creek Pinot Noir '06. Eureka!
It was exactly what I was searching for and was lucky enough to have found. A really good, tasty, friendly wine that makes Redwood Creek taste more like "Ripple" than a Pinot. I don't read the wine review mags so I am unaware of whether or not Arrow Creek has been noted by the "experts". Maybe I am wrong, but I don't see why not.
It presents a great value for the money. As i said in another review on this site,Arrow Creek is a fruity-berry pleasure with a nice balance between sweet and dry.
An easy, friendly wine perfect for sipping by itself after work. The price ($6.99-$7.99 $8.99) can't be beat.
C- for Redwood and B+ for Arrow.
