Placido 2005 Chianti Italy

This young Chianti has a deep ruby-violet color that is pretty opaque but not necessarily cloudy. It’s a young wine and as such doesn’t have a whole lot of structure. Your nose might detect berry and cherry notes as well as maybe some vanilla. The cherry and berry notes follow through on the palette. It’s certainly not a sweet wine, and if there’s a fault with this it’s with the balance and finish. It’s got a far amount of tannins that that tend to throw the finish off, but not overly so. It’s only a year in the bottle, so one or two more might actually help it.

Good for wood nymphs, water sprites and the odd pixie, especially those with slight experience.
